Scenario - Roberta

Post by Bekann » Sat Mar 29, 2014 12:08 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Module 1 - Organisational Requirements
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
A new group leader, Roberta has arrived at the service. Roberta has been working interstate and even though her qualifications are nationally accepted she has never worked under your licensing regulations. Roberta has a clear understanding of the National Quality Framework and licensing regulation within her previous state.

a) How will you help Roberta adjust to her new environment?

b) What key licensing information will Roberta need immediately?

c) What can you provide Roberta to orientate her to your centre?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
So far I have got:

a) To help Roberta adjust to her new environment is by making her feel completely welcome within the centre and by seeing if there is an attributes that she can bring to the service to help her feel comfortable in the environment.

b) The key licensing information that Roberta will need immediately is to know about the ratios within our state/territory. The NSW Child Protection Legislation. (NOT SURE IF THIS IS RIGHT OR NOT)

c) Not to sure about this.

1) You can also include get her to read the centres policies and procedures manual

2) http://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au/maint ... 011+cd+0+N
http://www.dec.nsw.gov.au/what-we-offer ... -providers

3) a copy of service philosophy, a copy of fire evacuation procedures, a list of important numbers (director, 2IC, head office), ratio requirements, room routine, staff handbook (policies on taking sick days, annual leave, immunisation requirements etc.

Hope this helps,
