Organisational Policies and Requirements For Dealing With Allergies

Post by Kylie7 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 12:04 am

Hi there,

I am struggling to find the right sources to answer this question:

What are the organisational policies and legal requirements for managing children who have allergies/ anaphylaxis or asthma?

They offer guidance by suggesting you list Australia's policies and legal requirements for managing children experiencing such.

However I am unsure if they are pointing to "The National Law" which would mean simply listing regulations???

Any help in what direction to go here would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Kylie

Yes, you're right! You will need to go through the National regulations and identify requirement services must follow for children with allergies, asthma etc.

246 Anaphylaxis training
(1) This regulation applies in a participating jurisdiction if, immediately before the scheme commencement day, the former education and care services law or the education law of that jurisdiction did not require the attendance at an education and care service of an educator trained in anaphylaxis management.

247 Asthma management training
(1) This regulation applies in a participating jurisdiction if, immediately before the scheme commencement day, the former education and care services law or the education law of that jurisdiction did not require the attendance at an education and care service of an educator trained in asthma management.

Ref: National Regulations

Also in my opinion you need to add the name and a brief description of the Policy that you have in your childcare related to allergies.
