Can anyone help me with this assignment pleas...
Angela has just turned 5 and has been in long day care since she was 2 years old. She attends 4days a week. The careers had found her to be quite settled untill the beginning of this year- her last year in day care before going to school. The careers have been finding her a bit of a handful over the last 6 months although they describe her as a tall, confident girl with well developed language skills. She sometimes acts as interpreter for her mother who is not confident with English. The carers say that she has been causing concern recently by being silly- giggling and running away when asked to do something, disrupting language and music group by fidgeting, prodding and talking to other children, and always playing outside avoiding any quiet activities. She is also disrupting the other children's games and is not being included. One of the carers feels that she should be ignored, as she will be going to school soon and then she'll " have to tow the line". Another carer shouts at Angela, trying to get her to pack-up. In informal chats, her parents have expressed a desire for Angela to be involved in quiet activities: reading, writing and some number work, in order to prepare for school. Angela has a younger sister now 8 months old. Her grandmother looks after her at home.
Questions are:
Develop a detailed plan of action by
1. Record one long- term goal and three short- term objectives.
2. Provide a list of strategies for staff to use throughout the day to assist the child.
3. Develop two statements that give the child clear and positive guidelines that promote appropriate behavior. Include logical consequences for the child that take into account his/ her developmental level and underlying emotional needs.
Thank you
Deepa

Hi , I have just finished a similar assignment. Strategies could include finding out the childs interests and strength's and developing a environment that engages her. Also try to relate your answer back to the EYLF . Hope this gets you started.

Hi i am doing the bridgeing questions for my diploma ,
the gap competencies
queation CHCCHILD401A
identify and respond to children and young people at risk.
question are- you are working as the asst in a children's service with children aged 4-5 years . After bathroom time Kasey aged 5 came and said Nathan put his hand down the front of my kincker and touched my privates" Nathan is another 5 yrs old in your group who lives with his mother while his father lives overseas. His mother recently began a relationship with a man that nathan has now calling Dad and since this man has been around Nathan has been displaying some significant changes in behaviour.
question: c) How will you manage this situation both with in the service and external to the service.
d)Do you think abuse may be occuring in this situation? if so wht types and why.
with my understanding
c) I would talk to my team leader about this situation and than plan together how we can help Nathan.
Yes I am concerned about Nathans behavior, though I am aware about the development stages that at this age children do get curious and it is normal for children to explore, specially when they socialize and at day care,
The question about what actions I would take in regards to Nathan
Follow the center’s child protection policy and procedures
Talk to the team leader/ director about my concerns and what I have noticed
Make observations/notes; continue to observe the child (if an immediate report isn't necessary)
Gather information and remember to store information safe away from the public, in a lockable and confidential
Be supportive to the child
Talk to the child
Act in the best interest of the child
Talk to other agencies about assisting the family
Talk to mother and suggest help
Report to child protection services.
d) I don’t think abuse may be occurring ,but I am concerned as this behavior is not appropriate Nathan needs to be spoken and explained ,that it is not appropriate to touch any ones private parts, and can be explained properly that its okay to touch your body, so that he understands we have rules in day care and we should not do be naughty and also have a talk with his mother about how we can help Nathan go through this development stage. So she can monitor him and teach him the right behavior when he is at school and socializing.
question 2 : Out line common legal issues that may arise in you day to day work in areas of....
i)exploitation of children
ii) effects of a alcohol and other drugs concern
Answ: the legal issues would be like , custady related and when some parents come to pick up they children an are smelling of alcohol or have had drugs, i would need help in this portion also need advice on the other question if i have answred them right pls advice thanks debs
