Learning Styles

Post by pinkfox » Wed Jan 23, 2013 7:59 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCPR510B
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
Describe the 3 basic learning styles and how they can be applied when designing and implementing programs.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
1. Visual - watching, observing and reading
2. aural - listening and hearing
3. physical - doing and touching

Description and Message:
I am stuck on how they can be applied when designing and implementing programs. Would you not just design programs that used all three styles, that way if you had a variety of experiences it would cover all the children's learning abilities? Am really hoping for an example so i understand better how to use them.

Thanks very much
Lou

Hi Lou,

Yes you're right. When designing the program I would incorporate different experiences to include the different learning styles. For example: during group time if you were having a discussion on wild animals, you could add photos for visual, sounds of the animals for auditory and animal figurines for physical.

Hope This Helps,
