Learning framework

Post by ChloeAiden » Wed Dec 27, 2017 3:46 pm

Hi all,

Can someone please help me with these questions.
Scenario 1: Anna is 5 months old. She enjoys tummy time but when placed on her back she cries and waves her arms around. The educator notices this and writes an observation, then decides to encourage Anna to roll over from front to back and back to front, by placing toys on her dominant side which appears to be her right.

Scenario 2: Joshua, who is 4 years old, arrives at the service and excitedly tells all of the educators and other children that his Nona has come to stay. He tells one of the educators that he wants to “show Nona his friends”. The educator responds, “We would love Nona to come and meet your friends!”

Write the Principle from the Early Years Learning Framework that is demonstrated in this scenario and explain why you choose that Principle.
Scenario 1 Principle: Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships
Educator is being observant and aware of Anna strengths (likes tummy time a lot) and weakness (does not like to be placed on her back) and will determine to encourage Anna to roll over from front to back and back to front. Educator established consistent emotional support and encouraged the baby to roll over by placing toys on her right side which is her dominant side. The educator acknowledge the baby's existing experience, skills and development stage which in turn make the baby feel valued and respected.

Scenario 2: Need help !!

Write the Practice from the Early Years Learning Framework that is demonstrated in this scenario and explain why you choose that Practice.
Scenario 1 Practice: Intentional teaching.
Educator used strategies such as placing toys on the baby dominant side to encourage he/her to roll over. Educator can also engage in activities that will enhance motor skills.

Write the Learning Outcome from the Early Years Learning Framework that is demonstrated in this scenario and explain why you choose that learning outcome.
Scenario 1: Learning outcome Children are confident and involved learners - the baby will develop dispositions for learning such as rolling back to front , front to back .

Write the quality area from the National Quality Standard that is demonstrated in this scenario.
National Quality Standard 2: Healthy eating and physical activity are embedded in the program for children. Element 2.2.2: Physical activity is promoted through planned and spontaneous experiences and is appropriate for each child.

If you were the educator in this scenario, who would you collaborate with? What would you say?
