CHC50908 - Individualised Plan To Support Child's Particpation

Post by mooey » Fri Nov 14, 2014 12:16 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHC50908 module 3. assessment 4. B
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
Hello! I have been scrolling down everyone's questions on the forum and I'm wondering am I the only one completing CHC50908?
My real question is... "This task will require you to outline the process of devising and implementing an individualised plan to support a child's participation in an approved early childhood education and care service. When documenting you will need to;
Explain the identification process
Identify stakeholders
Outline the consultation process
Explain the implementation process
Explain the evaluation and review process

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I feel like I answered this question in the previous assessment task :(
Identifying process would be determining the behaviour you deem inappropriate and documenting by way of observations and recording information on a behavioural checklist.
The stakeholders would be the educators and parents (is there anyone else?)
Would the consultation process be professional discussions with other educators and the director, then meetings with parents?
Would the process for constructing the plan be changing routines to avoid triggers, consulting with behavioural specialists? (OT for example)
The implementation process - ensuring all educators are aware of the plan and understand it. Ensuring all educators use the same methods of behavioural management as stated in the plan. Keeping the lines of communication with the parents open and offering them assistance and strategies to use at home, as part of the plan.
The evaluation - observing behaviour patterns and any changes in accordance of the plan. Having professional conversations with other educators to keep it from being bias and reviewing strategies to ensure they are working.
I'm sorry but I really feel like I am answering the same questions over and over! Or am I totally off the mark?

It does sound like it's something to do with a behaviour management plan but I just re-read the question:
"This task will require you to outline the process of devising and implementing an individualised plan to support a child's participation in an approved early childhood education and care service.

It mentions "to support a child's participation" so this doesn't necessarily mean from a behavioural point of view. I think it may have to do with a new child starting at the service and strategies to implement to enable the child to settle and participate within the centre. Such as devising an orientation process for the child and their family.

I could be way off but this is what I thought about when I read the question... Just see if my response gives you any ideas...

Sorry hope I haven't confused you,
