learn about the childrens backgrounds, where they are from, their customs etc
you can ask parents to give you common words and things you say in the classroom in their native language so the child understands more (if english is not 1st lang)
you can celebrate things from other countries and cultures & include families
have experiences in the classroom from other cultures eg make sushi, lamingtons, cheese etc
