Working Hours and Breaks

Post by trixstubbs » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:25 am

Hi,

My question is about working hours and paid and unpaid breaks.

I’m a full time employee, working 8.5 hrs a day / 5 days (ex: 7.30 to 4pm) in total I work 42.5 hrs and get paid 38hrs like a regular full time employee. I find some discrepancy here as I only get 40mins break -30mins unpaid and 10mins paid.
Some of my colleagues work 4 days in 10hr shifts and get paid 38hrs full time with 30mins unpaid and 20mins paid break.

Shouldn’t I be working the same number of hrs (40hrs/week) too and get paid 38hrs?

Can someone let me know if my reasoning is correct? Lol

Thank you!
