Toddler Room with Under 2's Ratio

Hi, I am currenlty working permanatley in the toddler room. We have up to 20 children a day with 4 staff which is fine.

Though we have 6 children who are not yet 2 years old. Admitably not all 6 usually attend on the same day, but yesterday we had 4 of the 6 under 2's there. It was a hard day as two of the children are new and one cannot walk yet.

So my question is; should our ratio be based on the youngest child in the room? Thus being 1:4 or because they are all anywhere between 1 and 4 months off turning 2 is the 1:5 ratio somehow ok?

No! The ratio for under 2's is 1:4, however, services could be using the under the roof ratio but to do this an Educator must be available to help you at all times.

Hi I am also have one issue regarding my babies room and Toddler room We have babies and Toddler together and I have mostly 10,11 by myself assistant doing other jobs like she don’t want to stay on floor. Manager not solving the problem She think I am a robot I need to clean as well after meals.

i work as a room leader for 3 to 4 years room. for most of the days i have 11 children just by myself in the room. amongst these 3 or 4 children are under 3. how do we maintain the ratio, is it justified if they give me under 3 children to fill the gap for 11 children ratio. kindly advise as i am very confused.

Ok so the under 3 ratio is 1:5 so if you have 3 or 4 children you are still in ratio and yes 3 to 4 years the ratio is 1:11. You are still in ratio even with the 3 years and under.

just little more clarification, if i have 11 children in the room within the age group of 2.5 to 4 years with eight children above 3 years and 3 children under 3 years, will the ratio be 1:11 or 2:11.

It's still 1:11 because the lower ratio is being maintained.

The under 3 ratio is 1: 5 or under 2 ratio is 1: 4 and then you have 8 children above 3 which the ratio is 1:11. So, you are still in ratio by yourself.
