Public holidays

Hi Lorina , I m working in Childcare from August 2016 and now from December I got permanent part time job, I didn't sign any contract yet ,my question is I m eligible for paid public holidays or not as part time permanent? Please help , thanks

It depends on your working hours. If your ordinary hours include working on a day of a public holiday then you should be paid. However if you don't work on a specific day which falls on the public holiday then you're not eligible.

For example:

If your normal hours include working on a Monday and Monday is a public holiday then you will be eligible or public holiday pay...
