Casual Employee Induction

I started casual work at a child care service a while ago but was never 'shown the ropes', so to speak. Is this common? I really think I would have benefited from being informed about routines etc.

Maybe because you are a casual they had over looked it... Your centre should have a "casual" folder which will give you an overview of the centres policies, supervision areas, your breaks and other related information... If you are a casual at the same centre over a period of time then you should be given an induction...
