Scenario: They Are Not My Friends Anymore

Post by Ruvi » Sun Oct 23, 2016 7:19 pm

Three children playing together. one children walk away and said educator to " they are not my friends anymore". Educator act immediately and discus with other children about this and help her to join with them again.

In this situation what is the educator use positive support strategies to help girl to solve the problem ?

 Showing respect by actively listing and in the way of responding in a reassuring and sensitive way, Encourage children to describe the problem they encounter,  Communicate clearly, suggesting positive options to encourage them to cooperation, Use positive approaches to behaviour guidance

Lorina am I on right track can you help me....

Other question is above strategies help to solve the conflict / positive way to solve conflict?

I wrote for this one respond immediately, meet the children involve conflict and listen both side, ask questions etc.

Am I right track can you help me Lorina

Thanks :)

You could talk to the child that walked away... Educator can use open ended questions such as "I see you're very upset, tell me about what happened". From the child's response you can encourage the child to go back and talk to the other children about what happened so the issue can be resolved. As an educator you shouldn't try and solve the problem for the child, talk them through it and support them but the child should be encouraged to solve the problem with those involved (in my opinion)...
