Scenario: Joseph - Birth Of His Baby Sister

Post by momotayeasmin » Sat Aug 08, 2015 10:04 pm

Family Events
Joseph's mother told Marlene, his Educator, that Joseph (5 years) was getting really excited about the imminent birth of his baby sister. He doesn’t have any other siblings or cousins.

(i) What is the children’s emerging interest?
Joseph's emerging interest is his imminent birth of his baby sister
(ii) List three different play resources and equipment that you could place in the block area to foster children’s interest.
Dolls - washable and suitable for dressing
Dolls clothes, blankets and wraps
Doll Tools sets - good quality plastic ones
(i) What anti-bias resources could be added to this experience to promote participation of all children, and to develop children’s awareness of differences?

Is it correct?

Please help me to answer last question.

Yes, you're on the right track with your response.

Within block area you could also add images/posters of different types of families (single parent, gay couple, families from different cultures, grandparents etc.). and you can include interracial dolls not just "white dolls", male gender dolls as well...

Hope this helps,
