Scenario: James - Becoming Familiar With Print

Post by jessb2899 » Tue Jan 03, 2017 4:55 pm

I have recently been told I have to resubmit my answers for this question and I need help with answering this question properly

You have observed that James (4 yrs) is becoming familiar with print, today he asked how to write his name in the drawing area. (1.) How would you scaffold James learning? (2.) Suggest a further two ways that you could further encourage James to explore symbol systems in the environment e.g. letters, numbers, time, money and musical notation.

ANSWERS
• I would ask James if he knows how to spell his name.
• I would then write his name for him and then he would copy it.
