Scenario: Coming From A Different Place

Post by madhu148804 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 5:29 pm

If you will be left alone in a place where everything is different to your own and you are asked to live at that place for 6 months, how might you feel. You have mentioned that you will be happy, which is great, but at the same time you will miss your family. In question 1F you are to reflect on your experience and how will you support children in your care. The children will come from a culture different to long day care environment, they may be speaking different language, their ways of doing things will be different. They will be in the same situation as when you were left alone in a place different to yours. Think how children and their families might be feeling, what they will be going through. How you as an educator will support them at this time?

You need to be reassuring. Provide them with support. Be friendly. Smile. Talk to the children. Try and learn some words from their language to communicate with them etc.
