Post by Andrijana » Sun Feb 19, 2012 2:22 pm

Descbire how you would introduce the story?
Think about how you will tell the story-write a brief decscription
Describe how you will conclude the story and transition the children

Hi Andrijana,

What story are you referring to? Is this a scenario based question? Is this referring to a story book you read to the children? Also, please include a response to the questions in order to receive support.

Cheers :geek:,

What story have you chosen to read to the children?

It's a good idea to select a story that includes a current interest or a story that "teaches" the children. For.e.g. A few weeks ago, I began toilet training a few of my toddlers. At group time I read "Nappy Duck and Potty Pig" which involves two characters, one in a nappy and one going to the toilet etc. Then at the end of the story we had a brief discussion about using the toilet, steps involved etc. To transition the children I asked simple questions about the story. "In the story who wear a nappy" etc. I always use questions and answers about the story as it enables the children to focus and listen to the story and to develop their understanding.

Using my example, you should hopefully be able to come up with your own...
