Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
Personal Hygiene ( hair, nails, dressing, bathing etc) 0-2 yrs age group
How will you work with individual preferences, needs and requirements of children in this group?
How will you assist the child to develop independence and what will you do if children make mistakes or accidents?
How would you acknowledge and support children's emotional needs siring the routine?
Opportunities and methods you would use to provide the child with info related to the routine
How do your strategies respect the individual and cultural differences for the child?


What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Question 1: Assisting the children with self help skills such as washing their hands and dressing themselves etc
2: assisting the children in self help skills
Provide props such as dress ups and hairdressers to encourage the children to try and brush their hair and dress themselves
3: Encourage the children to have a go and if they don't get it the first go then try again
Provide visual aids
4:props, usual aids
5: acknowledge that some cultures prefer long hair on boys, headrresses etc.


Description and Message:
I am a bit stuck on these questions and need to know if I am on the right track . Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you're on the right track... Here are a few more ideas...

1. You have to consider each individual child's developmental stage and understanding. A younger child will probably need help washing hands by themselves rather than an older child.

2. Provide lots of encouragement and positive comments. Be a role model, show them what to do. If they make mistakes, give them your support and ask them to try again, show them the correct way of doing it.

3. Smile, give high 5, pat on the back, thumbs up, clap hands etc.

4. Visual aids, posters, photos, singing songs about hygiene etc.

5. Discuss with parents about personal hygiene they use at home. Implement it within the room if you're able too. Discuss with children about cultural hygiene methods etc...
