Hi there, a few questions I'm stuck on. Help anyone please?
What can you do to ensure children are prepared and well supported for changes in their
environment, in their families or in health? (not sure if my answer is sufficient)
Children need time to adjust to change. They should be given notice if the change occurs within the service.
If you work (or have previously worked) in a child care setting, write down your ideas about ways you helped (or saw other workers helping) new children and their families settle into your centre or family day care service.
Name 2 activities you could use to ensure you have direct contact with each child in your service?
Outline at least 3 communication approaches you could use with children to consult and collaborate with them about the service?
State 2 ways you can encourage children to try out new ideas and interests?
Demonstrate the new idea or interest so children can visually see it.

For your first question, the ways you can ensure a child is prepared and supported for changes is by, talking to them, explain what is happening (if able to in the situation) encourage and praise them, give them time, help them understand and most importantly comfort them.
Centres can help parents settle in by: offereing referral services if needed, show them around the centre, talking to them (whether this is formally or informally done), let them know the centre door is always open for the family.
Centres can help children settle in by: allowing the child half days so they can settle into the new environment and routine, comfort the child when possible and always include them in experiences.
The next three ideas you just have to be creative in the communication proccesses.

one that comes to mind would be to have a 'greet' chair where if the centre is able to have one educator sit on the chair as the children arrive in the morning to talk to each one, whether that's done on a weekly basis or more often.
