Scenario 2
Mia, 4 years old has completed a complex drawing and proudly brings it over to show you.
(a) What are 2 things you could say to Mia to foster her self-confidence?
Acknowledge her efforts and achievements.
Show genuine interest in, understanding of and respect of what she did.
(b) Outline one way you could share Mia’s success with her family
Assist to create an environment that reflects the lives of mia,her family and the local community
Support implementation of practices and routines that honor mia,her family and the community context

Good! But what would you say? For example - "Mia, look at that! That must of taking you a lot of time to complete! Can you tell me about it.."
Outline one way you could share Mia’s success with her family

E.g. Put Mia's picture on the wall and get Mia to show her parents when they arrive
