CHCECE005 Appropriate interactions with babies and toddlers

Post by Lis_ » Mon Apr 18, 2016 6:09 pm

Hi,
.. some guidance anyone?

Research and summarise the following:
• Appropriate interactions with babies and toddlers, including:
- Individual differences of babies' and toddlers' needs for rest, and sleep/rest patterns

- Signs of stress, distress or pain in babies and toddlers
- Social development of babies and toddlers

The question seems a bit odd to me: appropriate interactions linked with individual sleep/rest patterns
I have been searching the net a bit but can't find anything specific. I find it hard to research this and would rather explain in my words.
Possible Answer:
Successful rest times depend on these five things:
Meeting each child's individual needs for sleep
Setting up a good daily schedule with plenty of physical activity
Making a smooth transition to rest time
Planning where rest time will take place
Creating a calm mood for sleeping and quiet play

Would this be a suitable answer? It's not really about interaction in specific is it?

hmmm..

I actually think that this question is based on interactions with each baby and toddler according to their individual patterns. So, observing the child's verbal cues such as yawning, rubbing their eyes, becoming unsettled for sleep, becoming clinging etc. These all could indicate that the child's ready to have a rest.
