You join some four-year-old children while they eat their lunch.
➢ Matteo is eating his pasta with his hands and wiping them on Luna.
➢ Luna is shoving grapes into her mouth so fast that she cannot chew and swallow them.
➢ Sophia is eating her lunch quietly but she is not looking at or speaking to anyone.
➢ Henry is not eating his food, but cries for Matteo’s pasta.
➢ Jesse is not staying in his seat and is bothering the other children while they are eating.
Outline the specifics of how you supervise and engage with these children.
I am very confused with what I am actually being asked to do but my attempt at answering this question so far would be....
To ensure I sit with the children and model safe and hygenic table manners, I can also increase socialisation by making small conversations with children but also reminding them that they should finish what is in their mouth first before speaking, this way I can encourage Sophia to be involved in the discussion.
I can remind children that we only take bite sized peices so we dont choke and this hopefully will encourage Luna to put smaller amounts of food in her mouth.
This is the best answer I can come up with..
Im not sure if I have to answer how I would supervise and engage with each child or the children as a group.
