CHCECE002 - Allergy Management For Children With Severe Allergies

Post by Amber22 » Sat Feb 20, 2016 5:30 pm

Hi All,

I'm struggling with this question and want to know if im on the right track?, as i can't find anything official just suggestions.

Question:
Identify 5 organisational risk management strategies you would implement for children with severe allergies?

My Answer:
1.Ensure the children with allergies have a management plan and that all staff are aware, including kitchen staff if it's food related.
2.Encourage awareness of the allergy and ensure the risk is minimised by asking families not to bring in a type of food if the allergy is food related.
3.Ensure staff are trained with current certificates.
4.Ensure first aid kit and medications are kept up to date regulary.
5.Ensure you have a risk management plan in place at the centre.

Thanks in advance :)
