CHCCN302A - Provide Care for Children

Post by apittman92 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:19 pm

Hi Guys,

Having a bit of trouble with a question and need some help.
I am supposed to choose a a task that a preschooler may need help with to learn and create a task analysis that outlines each step for completing the task.
They have already used taking off shoes with velcro tab and socks as an example.

I was thinking of dressing and undressing, but it is hard to explain the steps in a task analysis.

Is there anything else anyone can think of, and if not, could you help me with how to describe steps of how to put on clothes in words. I cannot think of how to explain how to know which leg goes in which hole, or how to explain how the child requires to learn left and right or how to explain how the child should position themselves.

It is urgent as my assignment is due in a weeks time and it is my last question.

Thanks :)

HI there
What about washing hands in the bathroom. Steps would be quite easy, turn on taps, squirt soap onto hands. Lather hands together, rinse hands under water, turn off tap. Use paper towel to dry. Of course you would have to spell it out a bit better than that but that is the general idea.
Hope it helps

I thought of this as well but most preschoolers in my centre ready know how to wash their hands.
I will probably use this though as the steps are less complicated then the dressing one!

Thank you for your help :)
