Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
1. First stage (birth to 5-6). during this stage infants are particularly responsive to their mothers. this ids preferences for their mother continues as attachment process develops. Babies at this stage discriminate less between adults so long as their needs met in responsive, caring way.
Typical behaviour and how the carer can support separation.

2. second stage(5 to 11 months) During this stage infants shoe definite preference for familiar people mother or frequent carer. Fear of being separated from the primary caregiver is common about 8 months of age.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
1) Typical behaviour-Infants at this stage show of being upset, crying, whimpering when their mother is out of sight.
How the carer can support separation
- carer should respond quickly when baby display sign of separation anxiety.
-Carer can settle the baby by providing physically comforting them with hug or rub on the back.
2)(no ideas)

2. having a photo of family so the child can carry it with them at the centre or having a fav. toy or item with them. Where able have at least 1 of the regular staff in that childs room on or get the child use to all staff in centre.
A regular routine is good to etc: parent places baby in same spot each day(or with same caregiver), gives a kiss and says good bye.
