The Indigenous Literacy Foundation proudly presents Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday 6th September, celebrating Stories, Cultures and Languages. Take part in a free virtual event including a 15-minute film premiere, followed by a 45-minute live stream from the Sydney Opera House with storytelling and songs. 

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day (Children’s Day) is our national day dedicated to celebrating our children and is celebrated across the country each year on 4 August.

Dharug, the first language of the Sydney Basin area, is among the other Aboriginal languages that are being taught to 16 NSW public preschools across the state.

Aboriginal Symbols are symbolic language that Indigenous Australians use to tell stories of the Dreamtime and are used in contemporary art. Using these aboriginal symbol flashcards, children can be introduced to Indigenous Culture. These flashcards can be used in numerous ways to extend upon children knowledge.

A yarning circle is the practice of speaking and listening from the heart, for sitting together to talk and listen and share ideas and stories.
