Observations are one of the most reliable ways to document a child's learning and development and gather an understanding of their skills and abilities. It is a necessity in early childhood settings. There are many different ways to observe children and a variety of different methods should be used.
For this reason I have created a Child Observation Anecdotal Record template which can be used to record a individual child's observation. This template can be used as an anecdotal record. An anecdotal observation focuses on what is significant and written in sequence. When writing anecdotal observations, summarise and focus on important details that occurred during the observation. This template can also be used in an LDC, FDC and OOSH settings.
We are releasing this template as a FREE template to all our users and it is available to download in both MS Word and PDF formats.
I really hope you enjoy using this template and able to "capture" a child's love of learning!
