ABC Kids has worked with Deaf Connect to create five new Play School Story Time episodes with Auslan interpreters.

Auslan is the sign language of the Australian Deaf community. The following article provides a list of rhymes in Auslan. Each rhyme includes lyrics, a picture song board, key signs and a video of how to use Auslan signs to sing each rhyme.

In a Bluey first, Auslan was featured in a Bluey episode. Dougie’s conversation with his mother in Auslan is a critical part of the episode as it shows the power of natural communication between parent and child.

A commendable and exemplary initiative has been taken in the schools of NSW by the inclusion of AUSLAN classes for students which is going to start from 2023. It will be offered to students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Auslan is a portmanteau of Australian National Sign Language which helps deaf people to communicate.
