Bill Shorten's Labor Government announced that they would waive upfront fees for students studying a childcare qualification from TAFE.
For Labor's commitment to Early Education, 10,000 TAFE places will be allocated to early education courses.
Out of the 10,000 places for TAFE students, 200 of these will go to Indigenous Students seeking a childcare qualification.
These 10,000 TAFE places will be supported by Labor’s plan to uncap university places – which will see 200,000 more Australians get a university education.
Labor also plans to uncap university places which will ensure there are no barriers for students wanting to continue their studies to become bachelor qualified ECT's.
Australia’s future will rely on training students to become high-quality educators and to help supply workers for the growing demands for staff in childcare centres.
