This three-part foundational webinar series, from TAFE NSW, presented by Josh Brown, a proud Worimi man and co-founder of Deadly Ed, empowers early childhood educators and teachers to confidently and respectfully embed culturally authentic Aboriginal perspectives into their everyday teaching.
Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), participants will build confidence in selecting, using, and advocating for authentic Aboriginal resources in their everyday teaching practice.
Three-Part Webinar Series Includes:
Part 1 - Understanding teaching and learning resources
Educators and teachers will be introduced to the importance of using culturally authentic Aboriginal resources in early childhood education.
Explore Aboriginal resources, addresses common barriers, and encourage reflective practice in a culturally respectful learning environment.
Part 2 - Applying resources across EYLF Outcomes 1-3
Educators and teachers will see examples of how these resources support children’s identity, connection to community, and well-being, and will be encouraged to trial new approaches in their practice.
Learn practical ways to integrate Aboriginal resources into the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) outcomes 1-3.
Part 3 - Applying resources across EYLF Outcomes 4-5 and resource planning
Educators and teachers will learn how to create a 12-month Aboriginal education plan, collaborate with community members, and ensure continuous improvement in culturally responsive teaching.
Develop a resource map and find opportunities to expand Aboriginal education topics within the curriculum.
