Moving interstate

Post by mega » Sun Mar 18, 2018 9:54 pm

Hi everyone. I had completed my certificate 3 in children services in 2012 in Melbourne. And the only experience that I had with the children was when I was a children pastor 4 years ago. I will move to Gold Coast in the next few months. Anyone has any information if I want to work at a child care centre in Gold Coast? Do I have to sit for any refreshment course or not, etc. Thank you.

You will need to get your Qualification checked just to make sure that it's still valid and on the approval list. You can simply do this on the ACECQA:

Cert 3 Qualification Check

If your qualification is on the approved list then you will not need to redo it, however, if it's not then you will need to complete your qualification again.

So, I would suggest seeing if your qualification is approved or not then we can take it from there...

Hi Lorina, thank you for your prompt reply. Yes I did check my certificate 3 it was chc30712 and is on the approved list however there is a note saying the chc30712 is superseded by chc30113. The award date is any. I completed my certificate in oct 2013. So if I think I only need to update my firstaid and working with children check. Am I right?

You may want to email ACECQA and confirm - if it's superseded it means it was replaced so you may have to do that again along with an updated first aid cert and working with children's check...
