Hello, I really need help on how to answer this question. Its due next week Wednesday.
Assessment A.
Case Study 2
Q 8 : One of the older children ask Bao, could we have picnic at the beach for our end of year party? Bao brings the idea to the staff meeting. The staff than put the idea to the children and get an enthusiastic yes. The staff are aware that all of the children need to be consulted and involved in the decision making and planning for the picnic.
Given that some of the children are very young and that there is quite an age range in the group describe some strategies you would suggest to:
a) Ensure it was participate and collaborative project
my answer is Communicating with all children and discuss with them and as for the younger age discuss with their parents
b) Encourage all of the children to share ideas at their own level of ability
get all the ideas by discussion
c) Ensure that there is enough time for children to share ideas and consider option
give them time limit
d) Assist the children with decision making
e) Explain that all suggestions cant be acted upon due to limitations such as cost, transport, time constraints, supervision needs etc...( not sure abt this how to answer)
f)Ensure that all suggestions are acknowledged
Examine each ideas and suggestion
g) Ensure children don't feel like their ideas and wishers are being ignored
Is my answer on right track??? And really need help for others question..thanks a lot!!!

Hi Penny,
Yes, you're on the right track with your responses... I would also include suggestions such as:
- Brainstorming Ideas.
- Using mind maps.
- Take a survey from the group of children.
- Encourage all children to offer their ideas (breaking up into smaller groups and having a discussion about this).
- You will also have to refer to the policy and procedures manual about excursions and covering rato's etc.
- Put the excursion plan together, finding out where in the community you can go considering cost and safety requirements.
- Explain to children about finding somewhere nearby which will reduce cost etc.
Hope This Helps,
Cheers ,
L.A

Re: CHCIC301E - Scenario: Bao - Picnic At The Beach
Hi every one
I am doing certificate iii in children services .
I am studying this unit CHCIC301E .( interact effectively with children)
I just want to make sure my answers are correct.
So if anybody knows please tell me.
Milo ( 4.6 years) who rarely helps to pack away without being asked specifically , is observed helping his friend Erin tidy the home corner.
To assist Milo to understand the consequences of his behaviour and respond in a positive manner , the Educator could say:
A well,Milo its about time you helped with tidy up time
B keep going Milo , you don't wNt to stop now
C thank you Milo for helping Erin tidy the home corner today. The job was done so fast , we will now have time for some music.
D Good boy
I think the answer is : D
Thank you plzzzz help me

Hi Nahid,
I would say the answer is C. It is important to acknowledge what the child has done right. Just saying "good boy" doesn't really tell the child what he did that was good.
Hope this makes sense...
Jules.
