Decision Making For Children: Making Changes to Playground Area

Post by Issy » Wed Mar 21, 2012 12:58 pm

i have to get preschool children to make changes to the playground area. how do i get them to share there ideas and assist them to problem solve. i have to make them aware of possible limitations, safety factors and legal requirements.

do i put down the answer that i would get them to choose what they would like to play with or where they would like to set up an activity?

Hi Izzy,

Yes the suggestion you made about asking the children about where to put the equipment and what equipment to use is on the right track. You could also do a mind map during group time to gather ideas... Since they are preschoolers you could also explain the safety considerations involved so they gather a better understanding.

Hope This Helps,

Cheers :geek:,
