All educators will be Diploma trained in the future ?

Hi all,

I recently heard that in 2022, all educators will be required to be diploma trained. I assume there would be a phasing in process, as they did with requiring cert 3 quals. I read through the Childcare Workforce Strategy but didn't see this mentioned. Has anyone else heard of this ? Or have I just been living in a bubble

No, I haven't heard of this... I heard rumours but nothing confirmed officially.

Even if so, they will give us plenty of notice.

I wonder if it will go ahead as I imagine it would have an impact on costs/fee increases ?

It will be too costly for services to employ all Diploma educators it will reduce their profits!

That's what I thought !! The privately run centres would oppose it for sure.
And especially now, it will take the sector a long time to recover.
