work legally and ethically

Post by Shaylee85 » Wed Oct 10, 2018 12:40 pm

Hi I am desperate to get some help

I am after some help with this case study, it is a picture of 3 children approx. 1.5 years in age playing outside in water. the tub is at chest height with numerous toys in it. the area in which the tub is placed is not under cover and the children appear to have wet hair and clothing. im just not sure how to answer this below question

1. Imagine that you are an educator in a family day care setting supervising the three children in the photograph.
Describe, in the table, what you would do to meet your legal and ethical obligations to these children playing in the water trough in the back yard and who you would report these to.

Legal Obligations? Ethical Obligations? Who to report to?

- Tubs at chest height, the child could fall in - tub should be placed on the floor or at hips height
- It is not under cover, children can be exposed to the sun for too long - should be put in a shaded area or undercover
- Sun could cause the children to get dehydrated - as above
- Wet hair and clothing could make children sick especially for long periods of time - children should be supervised, children should be encouraged not to get themselves wet, if so they should be given a waterproof jacket/apron to wear or clothes should be changed after 10 minutes of play or so and hair dried.

Hope this helps!

hi Lorina,

I tired to post a forum but not sure why it didn't post.
I need help with few questions please.
I am doing cert IV in education support.

Learning Support Officer (SLSO) named Jen was hired for a position at the same time as you. The principal expects all SLSOs to be at work at 9 a.m. and yet Jen shows up routinely late and nothing is said about it. This morning, Jen disclosed that the principal is her uncle. You recognise that this is a conflict of interest.

1. What is meant by a conflict of interest?
2. What school policy is affected by (or related to) this disclosure?
3. Outline three examples of Conflict of Interest from the Code of Conduct.
4. What is the difference between real and perceived conflict of interest?

appreciate your help.
