Designing An Outdoor Experience For Children

Post by moeenbashiry » Thu Jul 20, 2017 7:47 pm

Case study cont’d
The climate of the region where the childcare service is located is a very dry temperate and, in summer, can get very hot. Ali feels that the outdoor play area could be utilised to a greater extent, to give children more learning experiences outdoors, and help them connect with their natural environment. As long as the children have hats, long sleeves and sunblock on, the partly shaded outdoor area is sun safe at least before 10 am and after 3 pm.

1.5 Design an outdoor learning experience activity that is vibrant, flexible and support children’s learning. The activity should enable children to modify and plan their environment in a way that encourages and promotes agency and develops cognitive, physical, and social and communication skills. Describe the activity, including the required equipment, and the age group and interests the activity will be suitable for.
