Need some help on this one. I know what your meant to do for the child just a little unsure with the mother.
Ameen has been at your service for 3 months. His family has recently migrated to Australia and both je and his mother, Nadja speak very little english. One day Nadja arrives with Ameen at the service as is visibly distressed. Ameen's teacher Katia is able to ascertain that Ameen's father has beaten both him and his mother. They are both frightened and distressed. Being new to Australia they have no family or friends they can ask for help.
What is your duty of care to Ameen and his mother?
Would you offer support agencies to them maybe contact the local police station or give the contact details?

Re: Scenario: Ameen and Nadja - Beaten By Father
Duty of Care is to keep both of them safe from harm. You could probably ring a translation service and get them to talk to Nadja to find out what exactly has happened. Contact local community service that could help. etc.
