CHCECE017 Learning Centre

Post by a9898 » Sat Jun 03, 2017 8:02 pm

Hey all,

I'm on prac and for my assessment I have to plan and implement a learning centre for my focus child and add/change it over 3 days and do language experiences each day. My focus child is 3.5 years old and she loves to do cooking in the mud kitchen and sand pit and her ongoing interest is princesses .When the room is open for indoor play she will always be quick to get a dress and/or wand or shoes.I asked her what is her favourite area when she comes to centre and its princess and princess house. She is easy going and willing to try new things but when it comes to sharing or waiting for her turn or not her way she will get upset.

I still need to do child and educators webbing but im thinking of doing dramatic play -princess kitchen or tea party is that going on the right way? Like all the ones I've seen are on cars, autumn, vets things that we do and/or see everyday but where can i take it with her interest of princess?

Yes, extending on the Princess interest by having a tea party etc. is a good idea. You could also create a Castle out of cardboard boxes, maybe have a look and discussion at real life Princesses such as Princess Catherine and Princess Mary and what they do for the community etc.

Hope this helps!

Yes, you could also ask:

- What is special about Princesses
- How can you be a Princess etc.

Sorry Lorina just have another Q. For the language experience im planning to read 'The cloud princess' before we talk about the learning centre... would that be okay or should i read a book of princesses having tea party to bring it in together?
