CHCECE001 - Develop Cultural Competence inclusiveness

Post by catnap » Wed Mar 08, 2017 5:46 pm

Hi!
I am not sure about this question and can't seem to find much in my readings. Give and example of an experience that educators might plan and implement to foster positive attitudes to inclusiveness and cultural diversity? All I can see are activities such as music and construction. For example music involving digeridoos and making instruments. I am not sure if this relates to the above question?
Thanks :D

I think you need to look into different direction.
It's not only your resources, like all skin coloured dolls, musical instuments.

Do you have any religions or parents from other countries/cultures with different ways of doing things.
Jehovas witness's e.g. do not celebrate birthdays, try to find a way to include him/her in a positive way. Others might not celebrate xmas, etc.

Hope that helps,
Lorina please correct if I'm mistaken.

Yes, you're right!

Even reading stories to children about different countries and cultures, showing and explaining images of different people, what clothes they wear. Having a cultural corner set up, each family can share objects from their country, trying new foods from different countries, singing songs in different languages, playing games from different countries, etc.
