1. Analyze the service you work for in relation to current industry trends and developments. Use information sourced from your research, your supervisor, peers and networks to identify inadequacies or gaps in the service. In particular, examine the following areas:
• Current service policies, plans and procedures
• Current application of skills, knowledge and ethics within your practice that are relevant to current industry and professional standards and code of ethics
Do they attend PDs or they invite elderly people to learn “welcome” procedure?
• Current and likely future needs of your service
Better policy and more PDs around cultural safety
• How your service keeps abreast with evolving trends
Keeping updated with the membership in FKA
• Current review mechanisms within your service- a sign of commitment to upgrading skills and knowledge
Staff go for PDs and write a report
• Personal development opportunities and options within your service
Encouraging the staff to attend PDs
I have figured out few pointers but still feel lost to begin answering this. What could be the gap regarding the policies...
