Post by Kaku1 » Wed Nov 23, 2016 10:25 am

Hi Lorina

May children be left alone with visitors so long as they are known and trusted by educator. Which regulation covers this?

List the regulations from the education and care services national regulations that applies specifically to the need to keep a register of visitors in a family day care setting.explain in our own the requirements of this regulations are.

Thank you

Policy: An approved provider must ensure that whenever children are being educated and
cared for, the supervision of children by educators and educator assistants is paramount and
ensures the safety of all children in care at all times.
procedure:The family day care educator is responsible for the direct supervision of children.
Each child will be within sight and/or hearing of the family day care educator or
educator assistant at all times the child is in care.
the department of education visited one of the educator from the service that i am registered with, they asked the educator to give them the children folder, she left the children with them and went to the next room to bring the folder. She did not get fined but they warned her that she should take the children with her even she trusted them as they are from the department of education. So this is a serious matter, children should be supervise by the educator not the visitors, it is part of children safety policy.
