Question:
Consider how you will support children's emergent self-help skills from infancy to six years old. How will you role model, introduce, reinforce and actively encourage personal hygiene, care and safety for the children themselves and others? What are the realistic expectations for each stage of development?
My Anwser is:
I will support children’s emergent self-help skills from infancy to 6 years of age by providing the children opportunities to feed themselves with the proper utensils, encourage the children to wash their hands with soap by role modelling to them and providing pictures on how to do it. The older children will be able to get their own lunch boxes from the fridge and choose their food and make beds with help from teachers of they ask.
I will role model, introduce, reinforce and actively encourage personal hygiene, care and safety for children themselves and others by discussing my actions so the children understand the reason for certain actions, I would show each child how to care for themselves and ensure that they take care for themselves by encouraging them to drink plenty of water and choose healthier options at morning tea and lunch. I will also ensure that all children go to the toilet even if they are in nappies if they want to.
But I cannot find What are the realistic expectations for each stage of development. Where would I find it?
