I'm having trouble with question 21 from the assessment tool 3 project:
Create a dialogue between you (the oshc supervisor) and Huy's father (through translator) demonstrating how you would reach a clear understanding of the situation (Huy being rejected by other children) and develop and implement strategies for response by the family and the service
My answer would be something like, we know your son has told is he is interested in trains, we could set up a train activity for Huy and 1 other child to experience.
We could trial Huy playing with 1 or 2 children for each activity to help him and the other children to get to know each other comfortably.
We would also have a group discussion about including every one in the activities
Is this the sort of answer they are asking for?

Being that he is obviously from a different cultural background you could research his culture and their spoken language to help better communicate with the child and his family, you could also get the other children involved in learning some hey words such as "hello" ect in the child's language so they can feel more at ease when talking to him, The rejection may be because simply there is a communication barrier which makes it difficult for other children to understand or communicate with the child.
