Scenario
You have been working as an educator at a service for the past 2 years. You have been advised by the Nominated Supervisor of a new child commencing in your room and he has a severe allergy to egg. During this time the service has always had a Nutrition Policy and as you read through this you realise that it has not been reviewed in the time that you have worked at the service.
You recognise changes/amendments will need to be made to this policy to reflect the revised Philosophy Statement that identifies inclusion of all children regardless of their abilities, needs, gender, race, cultural background etc. The current Nutrition Policy does not reflect the dietary needs of all children and in particular children who enter the service with severe food allergies and how that will be managed through procedure.
Where will you access the necessary information to inform this policy review?

My answer: I will consult and cooperate with stakeholders to ensure that the policies and procedures are relevant.
I will have informal discussions with individual users; hold a formal meeting to discuss opinions and to generate improvement suggestions;
I will ask for input from others, appropriate stakeholders and ask members of the use group to complete surveys;
I will conduct regular meetings with the user group during the trial period.
