Policies Regarding WHS In Childcare

Post by starulberg » Mon Feb 16, 2015 6:09 pm

• There are a number of Workplace policies and procedures that will relate to WHS. Fill out the table below identifying the main policy that would be observed in a centre and one (1) practice for each

Child protection- what are the policy and practices?
Supervision of Children-
Child Collection-
Provision of food-

Hygiene and cleanliness-
Children’s Medications-
Ill Children-
I am so confused where should get all information or policy and practices for all this, please I really need your help? Thank You

Hello, I am unsure of this one too! All I can personally think of doing is putting the regulations that are connected with it but I am really not sure if that is what they want or am I expacted to put there something else. And with Practice I thought is is putting an example of a good practice, writing a specific situation but again am really not sure and would like to hear if I am going the right direction or I missed something completely! Thanks

Hi,
I'm a little confused about this one too.
So far I have given examples of the policies you can find the stated "area" in.
For example Child protection - policy: child protection policy, practice: If a staff member suspects that a child may be at risk of abuse or neglect within their family environment, she or he will discuss the situation with his/her supervisor immediately.

No idea if I'm on the right path either tho!

Molpost, I think you are right, I looked at Policies and Procedures at my workplace and it was more clear and I came to the conclusion as you. The only problem is that the website of a fake kindy that I should take my information from does not have all policies I would need to use for the listed areas so I had to use a different source as well...

Yes, you're both on the right track! It's easier to be able to find the policy then from here you should be able to add the practice for each as well. Even if you are using a fake kindy most policies for all centres are very similar since you are following the same regulations, the only difference would be each state policy in regards to child protection but the rest of the policies should almost be the same.

If you need a copy of a policy and procedure manual let me know so I can attach one for you as a sample...

Here you go:

Just click on the blue link of which policy you are after and it will go to that particular policy.

Hope this helps,
