develop cultural competence

wondering if I am on the right track for this question please.

10. Explain the proposition that the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) sets out in relation to cultural competence.

The Early Years Learning Framework sets out pedagogical practices that enable educators to provide children attending an education and care setting with the best quality education possible, cultural competence is one of these practices.
‘Educators who are culturally competent respect multiple cultural ways of knowing, seeing and living, celebrate the benefits of diversity and have an ability to understand and honour differences’ (Commonwealth of Australia 2009 p16)
Cultural competence is related to principle 4 – respect for diversity, and the learning outcome 1: – children have a strong sense of identity and outcome 2:- children are connected with and contribute to their world. Cultural competence also forms part of education and care centres meeting the National Quality Standards.
Education and care settings and educators need to strive to develop cultural competence on an ongoing basis. This is important as culture forms part of who we are as a person.
