Implementing Experiences Using An Experience Plan

Post by nemodori » Mon Mar 07, 2016 9:36 pm

Your task is to plan and implement two learning experiences to support the development of two Children in your room: (This is on placement activity)

• Experience 1 - Indoor or Outdoor
• Experience 2 - Cognitive development focusing on symbols and patterns in the environment.

I will need to write up an experience plan for each of the two experiences prior to the implementation of the group time and must have this approved by the supervisor at least 24hrs prior to the implementation.

- Your planned experiences:
• must provide a rational for how the experience and goals supports children's development
• must link to the observations of children you have made in the room, developmental summary or reflections and their interests, strengths or identified needs.
• set up as a provision/learning area available to all children.

Once you have implemented your plan, evaluate how the experience went and whether the goal was.

Devise your own template.

Okay guys, i am having a lot of difficulties in understanding this. I sound very stupid; I know but I can't seem to understand what this task is and how I have to do it. I am afraid to even ask my supervisor about this, because I'll only sound dumb in front of her.
Can someone help me.. What do I do for this task... What goal am I looking at??
Please help me out... I only have a week or two left at the placement.. Please help me.

Firstly, you wont sound dumb if you ask your supervisor. They are there to guide and support you and you should take this opportunity to gain as much information as you can so if you dont understand just ask! It's alright they will help you.

Anyway with this task it sounds like you need to observe 2 children. Have you done this? Once you observe a child you will need to come up with a follow up activity to extend on the child's learning or interest. From here you create the experience plan. The experience plan lists the date of activity, activity name, resources needed, goals (use the eylf outcomes for these), how you will set up the expereince etc.

Then when you add the experience to the room you will need to write how it went, were the goals achieved etc.

Hope this helps,

by the way Lorina; what does experience 2 means?
Cognitive development foucusing on symbols and patterns in the environment..
I have done around 6-7 observations.
But; with one of the observations; what do I need to do of Experience 2 - Cognitive development foucusing on symbols and patterns in the environment?
Can you give me an example please.

Like I did one observation on a child playing with Playdough. Can I use this observation with this Experience 2?
And how, can you give an example of this cognitive development experience please.
