Preschool Sleep Time
All the children in this room are aged between 3 - 5 years. They each have a mattress on the floor and their own personal bedding. The room is darkened and the Educators play soothing music to help the children rest. The children are allowed to look at a book for the first ten minutes but then they must put them down and go to sleep. Each of the children is encouraged to take a special toy or comforter to bed with them and the Educators talk in low voices while they are sitting quietly and writing up their plans, portfolios or programs.
Hayden and Joel (4 years) are friends and cannot help chatting and laughing. The Educators are continually requesting throughout rest time that they stop talking and go to sleep.
What would be a more effective strategy to use which would support Hayden and Joel to promote positive behaviour?
Can you please give me some idea of this type of scenario question answer
Scenario: Boys Chatting During Rest Time

Surprisingly, i answered this question; similar to your answer, saying;
"If Hayden and Joel continuously keep on talking to each other and laughing, educator can separate the two only for nap time.
Putting the two of them in the opposite directions, may help them to settle down and rest well during sleep time."
But unfortunately my teacher has marked this as wrong.
Do you have anymore ideas?

Give them quiet activity to do... a puzzle, threading, an activity book...
