CHCORG506E - Staff Roster

Post by ldowsett » Wed Jan 13, 2016 3:47 pm

Hello

I was wanting to see if someone could help with the staff roster planning template that I need to complete. I currently work in FDC and as such have no experience with staff rosters in a childcare setting. The template is pretty easy to follow and I am working on the ratio's as for here in WA 1:5 for age group 24-36 months. So if I have 3 programs running with say 8 children in each program I would then need 2 staff for each program, and what would be the current areas of potential over/under service (am thinking staff/children toilet needs).

Also what would be some potential risks and the planned strategies to reduce the effects of these potential risks? Again my thoughts would be going over ratio, hazards as in planned program i.e. insect bites, water play etc

Thanking you

Yes,you have the right idea... you also have to think about covering the educators breaks, off the floor time (for programming), outdoor play, excursions, nappy changing/toilet training (since 1 staff member has to do it) etc.

Hope this helps,
