Diversity Of The Group Indicative Of The Local Community

Post by Nikki26 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 3:42 pm

Hi there,

I am currently researching cultural diversity and the question I'm Having troubles understanding Is,
Is the cultural diversity in the group of children who attend ( Shri Lankan, Irish, aboriginal, Australian, Jahovah's witness, Australian and Japanese) indicative of the local community?

When they say local community who are they? I'm assuming families and I know there are many more I just don't know who? Please help

Thank you

The Local Community is defined as:

A group of individuals that interact within their immediate surroundings. A typical local community consists of business operators, public agency staff and residents, and their interactions can include the sharing of resources, information and assistance, as well as the establishment of commercial relationships between local businesses and consumers.

Ref: Local Community

So, for this question I'm assuming that it means the community outside of the centre as well...

I'm in Sydney and we have suburbs that are populated with people from a particular culture. For example: Brighton Le Sands is a predominately a Greek community, Leichardt is known as "Little Italy" etc. I'm wondering if this is what the question is referring to. Are the children's diversity in the group common within the local community...

Hope this helps,
