CHCPRT001 - Scenario: Eze - Risk Factors Of Abuse/Neglect

Post by Boogie » Fri Dec 11, 2015 10:58 am

Hi
I'm struggling and understanding this scenario.

Eze (6 months) was born 7 weeks premature. He has Ben slow to reach his milestones. His parents have five other children under 10 years and struggling financially. His mother is very shy, speaks limited English and spends most her time at home caregiving.

Question:
Identify two risk factors related to parent or child that may contribute to the risk of abuse or neglect.

So far I have, I'm paired parental attachment.

Unexplained delay in reaching developmental milestones.

Please how I have read it over and over and can't seem to come up with anything.

Research has uncovered a number of risk factors or attributes commonly associated with maltreatment. Children in families and environments where these factors exist have a higher probability of experiencing maltreatment.

A greater understanding of risk factors can help professionals working with children and families identify maltreatment and high-risk situations so they can intervene appropriately. It must be emphasized, however, that while certain factors often are present among families where maltreatment occurs, this does not mean that the presence of these factors necessarily lead to child abuse and neglect.

Hope this helps,

Hi

Can you please help me with this questions? I am really lost :( thanks in advance.

-Describe the procedure that must be followed if you suspect a child is at risk of abuse or neglect.
-Name the organisation to whom the notification/report is made.
-What responsability is there to inform the parent that a notification/report has been made?
-How is information in relation to a notificacion/report recorded?
